The platform served 400+ clients and processed millions of transactions a day. In 2021 I was the named lead on the payment microservice that pulled payments out of the monolith.

01The platform
sticky.io’s payments lived inside a PHP monolith that served 400+ clients and processed millions of transactions a day. I led the architectural modernization, toward microservices, Laravel, and PHP 8+.
02The payment service
A June 2021 project page names me as lead on the payment microservice. The payments part of the core platform was embedded in the monolith: inflexible, hard to scale, and hard to maintain. The service was meant to stand apart from products, orders, and subscriptions.
03The contract
The scope I led included sale, auth, capture, void, refund, and inquire, plus tokenization so a partner would not have to handle card data.
